After some thinking, I've decided to host an art contest. Hurrah! You are free to note me with entries, or comment on this journal! I'll make a list of all entries and show them in this journal.

However! Despite the characters being my own, I will not be judging this contest! It is up to viewers to judge on an entry. So, if you would really like to win, poke your friends to vote for you! Allow me to explain how this will work...

The contest is open today (20th April 2012) and will end on June 15th 2012 - this means that all art must be received by this date. Then, viewers have until June 31st to judge the entries via a poll on dA. If I receive more than a poll's worth of submissions, I will create another poll (possibly by character) before a final poll of the winners. So a lot of voting!

Prizes

Prizes are subject to change depending on how many people enter the contest.

Opening prizes:
First Prize: $50 PayPal (4,000 ) or 50Gold Dragonscales
Second Prize: $30 PayPal (2,400 ) or Floof for Life
Third Prize: $20 PayPal (1,600 ) or Poneigh for Life
2 Honorable Mentions: deviantART premium membership (400 ) for 1 month or 5GD

What can you make?
   - Furcadia Portraits (Remap or None-Remap)
   - Digital Character art
   - Traditional Character art (If you wish to post these to me, feel free! I may reimburse the postage costs. Please ask beforehand!)
   - Physical objects and crafts (Plushies, sculptures, etc - again, postage may be reimbursed. Please ask beforehand!)
   - Anything else that you think of, let me know! .

The rules

I'm going to base rules from other contests I have seen around...

   - All artwork MUST be your own. This means no previous linearts coloured in, it has to be 100% your own work. However, collaborations are permitted.
   - You may not resell the images if you do not win. They will belong to the character you drew them for. I will credit the artists fully when the art is used and claim none as my own.
   - Enter as much as you like... depending on votes, you could win more than one prize!

The characters

Originally, I was going to place up almost 40 characters! However, I have narrowed it down to 10. You may pick which character you would like to draw, and most of them have feral and anthro forms.

Aditi (Female)
Anthro. You are permitted to draw Aditi as anthro.
Maximum art rating: T

Auger (Female)
Anthro (Portrait feral). You are permitted to draw Auger as either anthro or feral.
Maximum art rating: No max

Calais (Female)
Anthro and feral. You are permitted to draw Calais as either anthro or feral.
Maximum art rating: No max

Cynthanie (Female)
Anthro. You are permitted to draw Cynthanie in ANY FORM OF ANIMAL OR CREATURE, but her horns, hair, tail hair and nudity must remain, and she must drip "goo" if not in her natural form.
Maximum art rating: No max

Experience (Female)
Anthro, Feral and Dragon. You are permitted to draw Experience in either Anthro, Feral or Dragon form.
Maximum art rating: M16

Noctuam (Female)
Feral. You are permitted to draw Noctuam as feral, but creative artists may attempt an Anthro form.
Maximum art rating: No max

Ostrava (Male)
Feral. You are permitted to draw Ostrava as feral, but creative artists may attempt an Anthro form.
Maximum art rating: No max

Purrwings (Female)
Feral. You are permitted to draw Purrwings as feral, but creative artists may attempt an Anthro form.
Maximum art rating: No max

Talezya (Male)
Anthro and Feral. You are permitted to draw Talezya as either anthro or feral.
Maximum art rating: E8

Zanna (Female)
Human. You are permitted to draw Zanna in human form, but those who are creative may draw her avian anthropomorphic form, but please ask first. Zanna is an important character to me and difficult character to master - she has a thin and neglected figure, and her attitude is emotionless, if not saddened. If an artist gets a perfect representation of Zanna, I'll always vote for them over the other characters.

Tabion belongs to my partner, and he will also credit all artists fully.
